Serene KarplusEnjoy a community dinner with music entertainment. Doors open at 5 p.m. Meal served at 5:30 p.m. Nederland Community Center, 750 N Hwy119. Guests under 60 = $10, guests 60+ = $5 suggested donation. Check the menu.

Volunteers Needed: Our volunteers drive the success of our community programs. If you are interested in volunteering for any of the various programs we host, call us at 303-258-0799

  • Holiday Mountain Market: Greeters, servers, silent auction help and elves needed.
  • Event Leaders: Share your love of outings and help organize group activities.
  • Home-Delivered Meals: Local and mountain region deliveries for homebound residents. Personal vehicle and background check required. Free lunch voucher.
  • Mountain Peak Life Meals: Welcome guests at our social events as a greeter.

Foot Care with Nurse Debbie Neal: Serves mountain older adults with toenail/skin care and a review of foot concerns. By appointment, October 9, downtown Nederland, $30 fee, sign up at 303-258-0799.

 


 

Celebrate the Holidays with your Community Neighbors: Mountain Peak Life will be hosting Thanksgiving Lunch on Wednesday, November 20 and Christmas Dinner on Friday, December 20 at the Nederland Community Center. Chef prepared meals and holiday fun entertainment.

Scones of Yorkshire England
Oldies but Goodies Cookbook Recipe by John Brocklehurst 

Ingredients

1 C Self-raising flour
1 egg, pinch salt
2 T raisins
1 ½ T Lard
1 T sugar
1 T milk


Cooking Instructions
Mix flour and salt. Add lard, egg, sugar and raisins.  Add enough milk to thoroughly mix the dough. Make individuals scones or roll out into a flat plate shapes. Place scones onto a greased baking sheet.  Bake at 425˚ for about 15 minutes (check often).
