Home Delivery Meal Program:
Mountain Peak Life is partnering with our local non-profit organizations and Boulder County Area Agency of Aging to provide home delievered meals to our homebound mountain residents. If you are over 60 years old, live in the Peak-to-Peak region, are unable to attend our Monday & Wednesday lunches and would like to receive delivered nutritious meals to your home, please contact us for more information. Emergency Alert System Registration: Everbridge emergency alert system allows residents of Boulder County to be notified of emergency situations in a variety of ways including your home or mobile phone, text or email. Registration is required to receive alerts. If you would like assistance with on-line registration, call 303-258-0799.  We are happy to help you register.  

 

September is Fall Prevention Month: Accidental falls are the leading cause of injuries amongst older adults. Join us for lunch and learning, Monday 9/23 & Wednesday 9/25 for an interactive fall prevention workshop. Learn techniques to prevent falls and increase your balance while staying physically active. Volunteers Needed: Our volunteers drive the success of our community programs. If you are interested in volunteering for any of the various programs we host, call us at 303-258-0799

  • Hike Leaders: Share your love of hiking as a hike leader, needed for moderate hikes.
  • Home-Delivered Meals: Local and mountain region deliveries for homebound residents. Personal vehicle and background check required. Free lunch voucher.
  • Mountain Peak Life Dinners: Welcome our guests as at our social events as a greeter.

Foot Care with Nurse Debbie Neal:
Serves mountain older adults with toenail/skin care and a review of foot concerns. By appointment, every 1st Monday in downtown Nederland, $30 fee, sign up at 303-258-0799.

Rhubarb-Strawberry Jam
Oldies but Goodies Cookbook—Recipe by Jeanette Smith

Ingredients
5 cups rhubarb, chopped; one 3.oz pkg. Jello (cherry, raspberry, or orange); 3 cups sugar


Cooking Instructions
Mix rhubarb and sugar and let stand overnight. 
Next day, cook rhubarb slowly in its own juice until the rhubarb is done and a little mushy.
Add Jello and stir until the Jello is dissolved.  
Pour into jelly jars and seal.
