NAS Director – Marnie Copeland

Nederland Area Seniors-Mountain Peak Life is excited to announce our new Director, Marnie Copeland.  Marnie comes to us with over twenty five years of work in the social services field and has over fifteen years of non-profit management.  Most recently she worked at Emergency Family Assistance Association in Boulder where she served as the Children, Youth and Family Program Manager as well as the Community Engagement Manager.  She worked there for two years and was instrumental in supporting homeless families that were housed in their 56 short term and transitional housing units across Boulder County during the COVID Pandemic and all the challenges they faced.  She also piloted several new programs as well as directed their Participant Advisory Committee.  

 

Her background has included leading therapeutic multi-element courses with adjudicated teens all over the United States, substance abuse treatment coordination in a variety of settings including foster care, and maximum security prison for juvenile males.  She has lived in the Peak to Peak community for over twenty years and has worked in the community for many years and was co-founder of the Community Clothing Closet, was the co-chair of the Nederland Mayors Human Services Task Force as well as started the first Peak to Peak Prevention Coalition focused on youth substance abuse prevention while working at TEENS, Inc. for five years.  Marnie has raised her 18 year old son here and he graduated from Nederland Middle Senior High School in May.   She is looking forward to serving her community again as Director of Nederland Area Seniors-Mountain Peak Life.
